Makeup Artist + COVID19 Compliance Officer
I am privileged to work closely with others and take seriously my responsibility to maintain standards of public health and safety. Though I have always held to very high standards of cleanliness, I have taken the extra measures to complete advanced training for both makeup and hair CDC safe procedures and certification as a Covid 19 Compliance Officer. Listed at the bottom of the page.
This means you can have full confidence that Iām taking precautions to keep talent and crew safe while I am working with you on set.
My standard Makeup and Hair procedures based on CDC guidelines:
To avoid cross contamination with cosmetics, all products are swatched and transferred from containers to a clean palette, clean cotton tissue or pad and used with brushes or disposables in the makeup application. This keeps the original products sanitary and avoids contamination of viruses or germs.
To further avoid cross contamination single use disposable implements are used when needed during the makeup application such as mascara wands, cotton buds, facial tissues.
Separate brush sets are used for each talent and stored in individual protective bags for touch ups. All bags, brushes and implements are kept in separate bags for cleansing and sanitization after the job is completed.
Individual touch up kits and touch up containers are used for each talent.
Individual brushes, touch up kits and disposable implements are designated per talent and not shared with other talent.
Additional COVID19 measures for safety and sanitization per CDC and Red Cross recommended guidelines:
Prior to arriving on set all kits items have been cleaned, disinfected and sanitized with soap and water plus either chemical virucides and/or UVC sterilization.
Additional kit items include - masks, gloves, medical grade hand wash and medical grade disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, no touch thermometer, 70% alcohol and for surfaces germacidal/virucidal cleaner that kills 99.9% of germs and viruses.
I provide a washable cloth covering per talent for any makeup chair that can not be sanitized easily.
All set bags are made of materials that can be easily cleaned and disinfected and sanitized prior to each job.
Surfaces will be cleaned with CDC approved virucides that kills 99.9% of infections viruses and germs.
A 4 minute wait time is implemented per virucide directions between talent or subjects in my makeup chair.
In addition the following steps will be included whether on location, in studio or elsewhere.
Clean - To remove dirt and larger particles - with soap and water as directed by CDC and Covid Compliance training
Sanitize - In preparation of disinfection with spray alcohol, alcohol or sanitizing wipes.
Disinfect - killing pathogens, germs and viruses by hospital grade or CDC approved chemicals virucides
As always I will take all measures with PPE including one or two masks and a face shield or goggles and gloves when using virucides in the aforementioned cleaning to ensure a safe, comfortable and respectful environment for all talent and crew.
